This site presents an assortment of multimodal materials relating to the book One Child Reading: My Auto-Bibliography (University of Alberta Press, 2016). Here you will find some of the stuff that couldn't go into a print book! It is organized by matching chapter headings for convenient cross-referencing.

Particular thanks go to Natasha Nunn, who designed and built the website, and to Karen Willsher, who was chiefly responsible for filming and editing the videos, assisted in the early days by Chelsea Murray and Angie Friesen. How I Spent My Summer Holiday,1959

Travel the streets of Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia via Google Earth (the summer holiday section). The Rectory, my grandparents' home of the time of my visits in 1958 and 1959, is located at 5454 Granville Road. It's the large white house set well back from the road, with school buses parked alongside in some images (not all). Note the capacious verandah. The line of trees to the left of the house, running down to the road, marks the site of a small brook.

Roam the territory where the building housing 106 and 108 Pennywell Road used to stand, courtesy of Google Earth. The gateposts are still there, and so is the slope up to the soccer pitch at the back of the gravel patch. At the base of that slope, we chased the bad guys night after night, galloping back and forth as Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, or as Annie Oakley and her little brother.
